The British daily asked: "One wonders how much of this money was used to buy weapons that killed 1,268 American soldiers and maimed thousands more in Afghanistan?!"
Undersecretary of the Treasury for Financial and Terrorism Intelligence, Stuart Levey, testified at an October 6, 2009 Senate Banking Committee hearing that "money is leaving Saudi Arabia to fund terrorism…Undoubtedly, some of that money is going to Iraq, to South-East Asia and to any other place where there are terrorists…"
For example, the Riyadh-based al-Rajhi Bank was implicated in funding the Islamic Chechen Mujahedeen. Saudi involvement in anti-Western Islamic terrorism was also reported in 2009 by Pakistan's police, including a $15 million transfer to Jihadists who were involved in the murder of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Saudi-funded Islamic non-profit foundations – with direct and indirect ties to terror organizations - proliferate globally. The first foundation, the Muslim World League was established in 1962, five years before the Six-Day War, before the first settlement was established, while Jordan and Egypt occupied parts of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and Gaza and the Palestinian issue did not preoccupy Western policymakers. More Saudi-supported foundations followed, including the USA-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the North American Islamic Trust (NAIS), the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), etc.
However, President Obama has overlooked the fact that those who finance and incite terrorism are more culpable than the brainwashed terrorists who execute terrorism. President Obama has subordinated counter-terrorism to wishful thinking, oversimplification, misreading of the writing on the wall and a series of wrong assumptions, such as a supposed linkage between the Palestinian issue and countering-Islamic terrorism and preventing Iran's nuclearization. Thus, wrong assumptions have produced wrong policies, which have yielded tailwind to terrorists and rogue regimes and headwind to Western democracies.

So I, Ann Barnhardt, a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize muslims. Period. This is Dhimmitude.
Dhimmitude serves two purposes: It enriches the muslim masters AND serves to drive conversions to islam. In this case, the incentive to convert to islam will be taken up by those in the inner-cities, as well as the godless Generation X, Y and Z types who have no moral anchor. If you don’t believe in Christ to begin with, it is no problem whatsoever to sell Him for 30 pieces of silver. “Sure, I’ll be a muslim if it means free health insurance and no taxes. Where do I sign, bro?”
If you are a Christian and you acquiesce to this, you will be bending your knee to islam, and denying Christ. How many of the early Christians went to horrific deaths rather than offer a mere pinch of incense to a statue of Caesar? Every single one of us has a BIG decision to make right now, in this moment. A recent Gallup poll found that one in five Americans believe that President Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim. Reporting on the poll, VoaNews opined: "The number of Americans with that mistaken idea has risen in the past year, although President Obama is a practicing Christian and has made many public statements about his faith."
While such a large number of Americans could be mistaken as VoaNews asserts, but their assumption is, at all, not without foundation. On several occasions, Obama has admitted that he is a Muslim. There a number of Youtube videos, showing Obama confess that he is a Muslim.[1] In a private meeting on Saturday, June 12, 2010, Obama told Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit: "…he was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the stepson of Muslim stepfather, that his half-brothers in Kenya are all Muslims, and that he was sympathetic towards the Muslim agenda."
Don't these confessions in his very own words give one a solid ground to assume that President Barack Hussain Obama could, indeed, be a Muslim?
Apart from this, Obama attended a racist anti-White church for 20 years (for whatever reason), but since he cut ties with his former racist pastor and that church, after latter's virulent attack on the Whites during the election campaign, he is yet to find another church to pray (is he bothered to find one at all?).
From another angle, since Obama’s father was a Kenyan Muslim, he is by-default a Muslim for being born to a Muslim father. And he has not openly said that he renounced Islam. Had he done so, he would be an apostate of Islam in the Muslim eye, and his life would be at stake. Instead, when he toured Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and other Muslim countries of Middle East, he was welcomed and greeted everywhere as an honoured guest and a friend of Muslims. Can an openly 'Muslim apostate' expect such warm welcome from Muslim leaders and peoples of the Middle East? While he could be spared, given his position as the president of America, he could never ever expect the warmest welcome reserved for a foreign leader from the fanatical Arab Muslim populace and leaders.
Moreover, Obama's confession as a Muslim to the Egyptian Foreign Minister is much more revealing:
…he asked that the Moslem world show patience and promised that once he could overcome some domestic American problems, he would show the Moslem world what he would do with Israel.
The Israel-Palestine issue is closest grievance to Muslims all over the world, so, it seems, is for Obama. Moreover, this is a serious, indeed ominous, statement, which obviates that, in near future, he is going to adopt a strong anti-Israel policy to please the Muslim leaders of the Arab nations.
Apart from several interviews, in which he claimed himself to be a Muslim, he glorified Islam on a number of occasions, which is a sacred religious duty of Muslims, who do it assiduously. In his famous, nay infamous, Cairo speech, Obama told in glorification of Islam that:
“As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam. It was Islam – at places like Al-Azhar University – that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment. It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation. And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”
Yet on another occasion, Obama said: "Islam has always been a part of America's story."
Commenting on this claim, Ralph Peters wrote in NY Post:
"Guess the Founding Fathers missed that one. But I'm assured that George Washington turned to his mullah in the dark days at Valley Forge, that Daniel Boone read the Koran around the campfire, and that al Qaeda stood by us at the Alamo. Yeah, there was that misunderstanding with the Muslim Barbary Pirates, when they killed, kidnapped and enslaved American citizens for years.”
What Obama proudly said of Muslim achievements are blatant lies. In reality, Maths and Sciences have their roots in ancient India, Far East China and the Greeks. Ancient Indian sages were the ones, who gave the world the decimal system and the “zero”, the concept of infinity. While commenting on science and math of ancient India, Albert Einstein said, "We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made." Similarly American author, William James, recognized ancient Indian treatise Vedas as the "encyclopedia of every aspect of life, culture, religion, science, ethics, law, cosmology and meteorology."
But no eminent scientist has ever said that the world has benefitted by Islamic wisdom in science and maths. In this context, former NASA Administrator Michael Griffin under the Bush Administration told the Fox News on July 5, 2010 that: “There is no technology they (the Muslim world) have that we need.”
In refutation of Obama's gloating assertions on Islam's achievements, NASA's 12th Administrator Charles F. Bolden said:
I do not find where Islam developed Algebra. It is an Indian invention adopted by Islam during their bloody conquest of the Sub-continent. Did Islam pave the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment? I have been hard pressed to find any proof of this claim. I always thought that Johann Gutenberg invented the printing press in Germany. The “Diamond Sutra” was published in China and Korea by using wooden blocks even earlier, but I can find no record of Islamic printing. I was taught in college that the French were the leaders in the study of infectious diseases, reference Louis Pasteur. I do recall the Islamic use of small pox cadavers being used as weapons of war, but not the discovery of how to cure small pox or any other diseases.

Additionally, the last sentence above from President Obama’s Cairo address, really bothers me. When has Islam demonstrated through deeds, religious tolerance and racial equality? The historical record that I read is exactly the opposite of religious tolerance and racial equality. Where am I going wrong? Based on the facts I tend to agree more with former NASA Administrator Michael Griffin’s statement that “There is no technology they have that we need,”... In fact looking back on NASA’s record of landing men on the moon, sending probes to every planet in our solar system and advances in many fields of science, I know of no contributions from Islamic countries. Am I missing something? It leaves me to wonder what history does President Obama study?
Whether Obama truly is a Muslim or not, his own confessions more than once to be a Muslim and his kowtowing to and farcical glorification of Islam, and having the Muslim agenda close to his heart—all clearly spelt in his own words—give one enough ground to believe that Obama could be what he himself thinks: 'A Muslim'.
And placing him in the White House on the back of the 9/11 attacks and raging Islamic scourge around the world may prove to be a mistake of mammoth proportion. His strenuous efforts to disconnect Islam from violence and terrorism and give Islam a clean-chit, and employing so many Sharia-loving and radical-leaning Muslim ambassadors, namely Dalia Mogamed, AliKhan and Rashad Hussain et al., in the White House (which is turning it into a Muslim darbar or palace) and other key positions, who would work for nothing less than make Islam supreme in America—makes it amply clear that that mistake has started making itself manifest.

President Obama is betraying the Jews. He is a cultural Muslim whose sympathies lie with the Islamic world in its life-
Mr. Obama met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week. The goal: to repair the public rift in relations between Washington and Jerusalem.
"The bond between the United States and Israel is unbreakable," Mr. Obama said. "It encompasses our national security interests, our strategic interests, but most importantly the bond of two democracies who share a common set of values and whose people have grown closer and closer as time goes on."
Don't believe him. In front of reporters, Mr. Obama may praise the Jewish state. But behind the scenes, he is selling the Jews down the river.
According to a recent story in World Tribune, a prominent intelligence news website, administration officials have assured the Saudi royal family that Mr. Obama is determined to pressure Mr. Netanyahu into accepting an independent Palestinian state encompassing the West Bank and Gaza with East Jerusalem as its capital. Mr. Obama - like many in the Arab world - believes that the key to Middle East peace is resolving the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
It isn't. Rather, an independent Palestine will be an Islamic stake aimed at the heart of the Jewish state. Israel's withdrawal to pre-1967 borders will leave Jerusalem vulnerable to an all-out military assault. The Arabs will have the strategic means to implement their overriding ambition since the creation of Israel in 1948: wiping out the Jews.
The democratically elected Hamas regime that runs the Gaza Strip openly calls for the destruction of the Jews. The Palestinian Authority in the West Bank led by President Mahmoud Abbas systemically indoctrinates Palestinians about the "evil Zionist state." Palestinian television, schools and state-controlled media all preach that Israel is inherently "illegitimate" and must be "eliminated." The overwhelming majority of the Palestinians (and Arabs) don't want peace. They want conquest.
The notion of two states, in which Jews and Palestinians are living side by side in mutual coexistence, is an illusion. If the Palestinians abandoned their guns, there would be peace. If the Israelis abandoned their guns, there would be genocide.
The root cause of the violence in the Middle East has nothing to do with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This is a distraction, a convenient excuse consistently used by Arab tyrants to cover up the real disease afflicting the region: radical Islam. From its inception, Islamic civilization has been at war with its neighbors. The Muslim faith has spread throughout centuries by the sword and violent jihad. It is why Christians and Jews were slaughtered and expelled from Arab lands during the Middle Ages. It is why the Ottoman Turks invaded and conquered Spain, Portugal, the Balkans and parts of France and Italy, even reaching the gates of Vienna.
It is why the Saudis today continue to spend billions of dollars funding extremist madrassa all over the world. It is why Islamofascists, such as the Taliban and al Qaeda, seek a global caliphate based on Shariah law. It is why Iran's revolutionary Shiite mullahs are marching toward a nuclear bomb.
From its inception, political Islam has been at war with the West - first, with Christendom, and now with its modern secular variant, liberal democracy. There is no escape for either Israel or America. Islamists despise the Jewish state because it is the West's strategic bulwark in the Middle East - a democratic outpost in a region marked by economic backwardness, authoritarianism and religious fanaticism. The United States is the bastion of the free world, the last great power of the West. Hence, for Islamic radicals, these two nations must be smashed. It is a fight to the finish - and only one side can emerge victorious.
For all of his flaws (and there were many), former President George W. Bush understood this seminal reality. This is why he fought the war against Islamic terrorism. It is also why he was the most pro-Israel leader in U.S. history. He understood one simple truth: Israel's struggle is the West's struggle.
Mr. Obama is the anti-Bush. He is virulently anti-Israel, championing appeasement toward radical Islam. The reason lies in Mr. Obama's background and worldview - one that makes him uniquely unqualified to prosecute the war on terror.
During his youth, Mr. Obama was raised and educated as a Muslim. His father and stepfather were Muslims. When Mr. Obama attended a Catholic school in Indonesia, he was registered as an Indonesian citizen and "a Muslim." In public school, he was also identified as practicing Islam. Under the name "Barry Soetoro," he was compelled to take daily Islamic religious instruction, recite prayers, study the Koran and learn Arabic. His former classmates and teachers remember him as a devout Muslim.
For example, Rony Amir, a childhood pal of young Barry, described Mr. Obama as "previously quite religious in Islam."
"We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house," Mr. Amir said. "If he was wearing a sarong [waist garment worn for religious or casual occasions] he looked funny."
Nor is Mr. Obama's sympathy for Islamic culture limited to his youth. In an interview with the New York Times, Mr. Obama described the Muslim call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset."
The Times also noted that Mr. Obama recited, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent," the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer.

Mr. Obama says he is a practicing Christian. Yet, there can be no denying that his Muslim heritage and Islamic background infuses his thought and actions.
Culturally, he is America's first Muslim president. He refuses to admit there is a war against Islamist terrorism. His counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, even denies that jihad is a motive for Muslim extremists. He publicly excoriates Israel for building Jewish apartments in East Jerusalem, but calls for "engagement" and "dialogue" with Iran. He seeks a rapprochement with Syria, downplaying its ties to Tehran and support for Hezbollah. He is prematurely pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq. He has imposed crippling rules of engagement that make victory all but impossible in Afghanistan - for fear of killing civilians and "angering" the Muslim street. He demands Gitmo be closed. He calls for terrorists, like Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, to be tried in civilian court. He has ordered that NASA's "foremost" mission be "outreach" to the Islamic world - not space exploration. And he adamantly embraces Palestinian statehood, even at the mortal risk posed to Israel.
In short, Mr. Obama seeks to coddle the Islamic world. The result is that Iran is on the verge of acquiring the bomb. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - like all fanatics - is a serious man. He vows to slay the Jews of Israel once and for all. Mr. Obama is not some grand peacemaker. Rather, he is a naive, foolish leftist who - blinded by his ideological and cultural blinkers - is playing right into the blood-soaked hands of America's enemies.
Nothing surprises me any more with the actions, statements and logic of the present administration and its supporters. Yesterday, John Brennan, deputy National Security Advisor, announced that we may no longer describe our enemy as ‘jihadists’ or ‘Islamists’ because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam.
I have news for Mr. Brennon, it is not Americans who invented the word jihadists, but it is Muslims who used that word for 1400 years. The word jihadist is derived from, Mujahada or Mujahidoun, to describe those who go to war for the sake of spreading Islam. Brennon is right in that jihad is a major tenant of Islam, but wrong in calling it legitimate because in fact it is a declaration of war and violence against non-Muslim individuals, governments and nations that has been going on for 1400 years. The Obama administration refuses to understand that the doctrine of jihad challenges the sovereignty of any non-Muslim country and denies it exercising its right to remain non-Muslim. But after standing against the Arizona law, I do not think the current administration cares much about sovereignty of the USA.
I feel kind of silly in explaining the obvious to Mr. Brennan because he cannot be that stupid. But just in case, this is the definition of jihad as given in mainstream Shafii law: “to war against non-Muslims, derived from the word mujahada, signifying warfare, to establish the religion” (Shafii law # o9.0 p 599). To ensure that all Muslims perform or at least support jihad, there is also a law that states that not performing jihad or fleeing from combat with “unbelievers” is considered an enormous crime (Shafii law 377 p. 987). Not only is jihad the duty of every Muslim, but every Muslim head of state. Sharia says: “The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim” (o9.9 p. 603).
This definition of Jihad as above, is being taught today across the Muslim world and producing thousands of young men and women who are committed to killing us. Such jihad commandments to kill and engage in aggressive wars against non-Muslims are all over Muslim scriptures and preached from mosques across the Middle East and even in the West. Such violent jihad commandments all over Muslim scriptures have never been amended, annulled or denied by any Muslim group with authority in the Middle East. All we ever hear is unsubstantiated denials by Muslims in the West.
Here is another Sharia law: “The Caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax while being belittled”. Law# o9.8 p. 602. If that is not enough the following might convince Mr. Brennan: “When the caliph (Muslim Head of State) appoints a ruler on a region, (his duty includes) if the area has a border adjacent to enemy lands, (he will) undertake jihad against enemies, dividing the spoils of battle among combatants and deserving recipients.” (Law# o25.8 and 9 (8) p,647).
When it comes to the interpretation of Islam, many Muslim groups in the US say they abide by the interpretations of Al Azhar University in Cairo. Well, Al Azhar University in Cairo approved and signed the above Sharia laws and also teaches that jihad is a permanent war institution against Jews Christians and pagans.
There is a relentless campaign to dumb down Americans. There is daily massive, merciless pressure on the ordinary American citizen to conform to an unbearable state of giving up their culture, dignity and pride. Those in charge in New York have approved the building of a huge mosque at Ground Zero, which will be financed by the same people who financed the terror attack on 9/11. It will be considered by the Muslim world as yet another holy site for the triumph of Islam. Like holy mosque built on top of the Jewish second temple, in a few decades, Islam will claim this area of New York as Muslim holy grounds. American victims of 9/11 are buried next to a holy mosque of triumph and Muslims will come to visit from all over the world. Who knows, perhaps our great grand children will have an eternal war with Muslims over ground zero as a disputed area between Americans and Muslims.
To teach Americans another lesson, the Obama administration even brought a foreign leader, the President of Mexico, to come to our Congress and teach the American people a lesson about what is right and wrong.
We are told that Americans must never feel insulted, humiliated or that their noses are being rubbed in the ground by President Obma’s administration. You see, a good American must be sensitive to Muslim wishes, but asking Muslims to reciprocate would be insensitive.
A good American can no longer be patriotic, but must respect the patriotism of others. He must be tolerant, but must tolerate the intolerance of others. He must blame himself first, second and third, but never dare blame others. A good American must welcome Islamic penetration and agenda of jihad, but never suspect any ill will from those who call themselves jihadists and blow themselves up with fellow US citizens. He must never demand equal access in Muslim countries. He must resist feelings of pride in his culture, but celebrate the cultures of everyone else, even those who cut the clitorises of young girls. He must celebrate the diversity and division of America into little tribes even if some are hell-bent on imposing their religion, language and culture by any means necessary. A good American must abandon any reference in public to God, Christ, or Christmas. But he must celebrate other religions, especially Islam, while denying that Islam had anything to do with 9/11.
The present administration and its supporters are following a policy of divide and conquer and are gambling with our future, thinking that in the end the jihadists will get tired and reform themselves of their own volition. The administration is trying to play word games to tell Muslims they are not at war with America, when even the children in the Arab streets know that Islamic jihad is at war with America. America might be afraid, but denial and playing word games is an insult to the intelligence of the American people. Mr. Brennon and those who agree with him have ignored 1400 years of Islamic jihad history. Only those cultures that fought the jihadists survived and preserved their language and religion. Wars at the gates of Vienna stopped the jihadists in their tracks, but with appeasement, political correctness and Muslim immigration, America might wake up one day asking “how did we lose Europe?”
The present administration is selling America cheap, very cheap, for votes, for approval from Saudi Arabia and radical Islamists. I wish to tell them, you are rewarding the enemies of America who will never love you. Our politicians are at least engaged in gross negligence and at worst playing with fire.

The Obama administration has released a review of its strategy in the war on terrorism. The report failed to even mention the word "Islam."
CBN News traveled to London to talk with Anjem Choudary, a leading Muslim radical who says Islamic teachings are what shaped his pro-jihad message.
Although both George W. Bush and Barack Obama have declared that Islam is a religion of peace, Choudary begs to differ.
A Religion of Peace?
"You can't say that Islam is a religion of peace," Choudary told CBN News. "Because Islam does not mean peace. Islam means submission. So the Muslim is one who submits. There is a place for violence in Islam. There is a place for jihad in Islam."
Choudary is the leader of Islam4UK, a group recently banned in Britain under the country's counter-terrorism laws. He wants Islamic Sharia law to rule the United Kingdom and is working to make that dream a reality.
While Islamic radicals in the United States usually prefer to speak in more moderate tones while in public, masking their true agenda, Choudary has no such inhibitions.
He has praised the 9/11 hijackers and has called for the execution of Pope Benedict. He also stirred controversy recently when video emerged of him converting a 10-year-old British boy to Islam.
Openly Praising Jihad
Choudary told CBN News his group is a "non-violent political and ideological movement" that resides in the UK under "a covenant of security."
Yet he openly praises violent jihad.
"The Koran is full of, you know, jihad is the most talked about duty in the Koran other than tawhid -- belief," he said. "Nothing else is mentioned more than the topic of fighting."
Several former members of Choudary's group have been arrested on terrorism charges.
"A very significant amount of former al-Muhajiroun people were involved in terrorist plots against this country," London-based terrorism expert Peter Neumann said. "A number of people have actually gone to Afghanistan, joined the Taliban and died fighting for the Taliban."
Choudary refuses to condemn acts of terror including 9/11 and the July 7, 2005 London bombings, which killed 52 people.
Islam More than Religion
CBN News asked Choudary for his thoughts on the 7/7 bombings on London's transport system, and whether he condemned them.
"For the people who carried it out, it was legitimate," he replied. "If you look at the will of the 7/7 bombers Mohammed Siddique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer, they would be justified. And there are many verses from the Koran and many statements to say that's the Islamic argument. And that is a difficult Islamic argument to refute. And there are many scholars who support that argument as well."
Choudary says his group is merely following core Islamic teachings and that Islam is much more than a religion.
"This particular belief is more than just a religion," he declared. "It is not just a spiritual belief. It is, in fact, an ideology which you believe in and you struggle for and you are willing even to die for, because you believe in that: That is your whole life."
Choudary seems to relish being called Great Britain's "most hated man" and pledges to continue his rallies calling for the overthrow of the British system.
Scott Brown can't get to Washington soon enough. In his victory speech on Tuesday night, the newly elected Senator from Massachusetts underscored a central plank in his campaign platform: "Let me say this: with respect to the people who wish to harm us, I believe – and I know all of you believe – that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation. They do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. And the message we need to send in dealing with terrorists: Our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, and not lawyers to defend them."
This commonsensical approach to dealing with our enemies clearly found resonance with the voters of one of the most liberal states in the nation. Polls suggest on related questions about closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay and bringing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to trial in New York City, Americans across this country are of a similar mind. Yet, with each passing day it is evident that the Obama administration is committed to a very different course, one that is likely to get more of us killed.
For instance, we discovered this week that neither the Director of National Intelligence, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency nor the Secretary of Homeland Security were consulted before the decision was taken to allow Umar Farouk Abdulmuttalab to lawyer-up in Detroit. We are told that, for some reason, local FBI agents – who had gotten a wealth of valuable intelligence in the course of a few hours with the alleged Christmas Day pantybomber before they told him he had the right to remain silent – believed they needed to Mirandize the terrorist before he went into surgery.
With that, on advice of counsel, Abdulmutallab clammed up and – despite claims by the President's Homeland Security Advisor, John Brennan, that plea-bargaining will elicit more cooperation from this jihadist – it now seems unlikely that such help will be forthcoming and, if it is, that it will be "actionable."
Then, we learn that the State Department has decided to offer 14,000 of its "diversity visas" to Nigerians wishing to immigrate to this country. Never mind that Abdulmutallab exemplifies a portion of that nation's Muslim population that has embraced the supremacist, totalitarian ideology called "Shariah" by authoritative Islam, the same program that obliges its adherents to engage in jihad (or holy war). Randomly allocating visas to such folks assuredly increases the probability of inviting more of jihadists into our midst.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the State Department announced that Secretary Hillary Clinton had personally exercised her authority to waive a prohibition on the entry into the United States of two prominent Islamists, Tariq Ramadan (the Swiss Islamist who is the grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hasan al-Banna, the son of a preeminent Brotherhood propagandist and a professor at Oxford) and Adam Habib, a professor at the University of Johannesburg. As spokesman Darby Holladay put it, "Both the president and the secretary of state have made it clear that the U.S. government is pursuing a new relationship with Muslim communities based on mutual interest and mutual respect."
The chief State Department press flak, P.J. Crowley, added: "As we look at it, we do not think that either one of them represents a threat to the United States. We want to encourage a global debate. We want to have the opportunity potentially to have Islamic scholars come to the United States and have dialogue with other faith communities in our country."
In the case of Ramadan, this action reverses a decision taken as long ago as 2004 by George W. Bush's Department of Homeland Security. At the time, one of America's leading experts on Islamism, Daniel Pipes, reported that a "DHS spokesman, Russ Knocke, explained that this had been done in accord with a law that denies entry to aliens who have used a ‘position of prominence within any country to endorse or espouse terrorist activity.' The revocation, Mr. Knocke added, was based on ‘public safety or national security interests.'"
Interestingly, in his prepared statement, Clinton spokesman Holladay claimed that the two professors "were denied admittance after making statements counter to U.S. foreign policy." For Ramadan, at least, the grounds for exclusion were very different: Daniel Pipes points out that he did not get a visa because the Swiss Islamist had "funded two Hamas-related groups."
In an article in the New York Sun published on August 27, 2004, around the time of Ramadan's exclusion, Dr. Pipes went on to enumerate a number of Ramadan's other, publicly reported ties to terrorism:
While the President and Secretary of State gloss this decision with platitudes about "mutual interest and mutual respect" between Muslim and non-Muslim communities, Americans will get no genuine "respect" from Ramadan – nor will he encourage his co-religionists to give it to others considered "infidels."
In fact, Ramadan is, as Caroline Fourest documented in her marvelous book, Brother Tariq: The Doublespeak of Tariq Ramadan, a man gifted at saying one thing to non-Muslims and something altogether different to Muslim ones. If admitted into the United States, he will engage in his sophisticated "double discourse," sounding the quintessential moderate in settings where that will serve his cause, yet espousing Shariah and the Islamic supremacism it demands when speaking to the faithful.
In each of these instances, and too many others to mention in the space available here, the Obama administration is acting in ways that intensify the risk to Americans at the hands of those who adhere to Shariah. It can only be hoped that the more prudent and responsible attitude towards our enemies endorsed by the people of Massachusetts with their election of Scott Brown will translate into a vigorous rejection of Team Obama's priorities and conduct with regard to those who practice Islam pursuant to Shariah and who seek to impose it on the rest of us.
Scott Brown's victory speech Tuesday night in Massachusetts included a sharp criticism of Obama's benevolent treatment of foreign terrorist suspects:
"And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation - they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them."
Many political pundits are attributing Brown's stunning upset yesterday in the Bay State to Obama's unpopular health care agenda, but Brown's ascent in the polls also coincided with the Christmas Day bombing attempt and its aftershocks, of Northwest Flight 253 by a 23-year-old Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, and negative publicity stemming from missed warning signs by those in government who have been given a massive infusion of taxpayer resources to fight terrorism and prevent terror attacks since 9/11 (including an entire new federal agency dedicated to the defense of the homeland, the Department of Homeland Security and its subsidiary agency, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
To make matters worse, the Obama Administration decided to reward terrorist suspect Abdulmutallab with a civilian trial rather than turning him over to the military to be tried by military commission without consulting, according to Obama's Director of National Intelligence who testified before the Senate today, either the Homeland Security Secretary, the CIA Director or himself. It's been reported that the Nigerian underwear bomber was "singing like a canary" until provided a lawyer and magnanimously granted the special rights and privileges that uniquely accrue to American citizens per our Constitution and Bill of Rights. It is hard to conceive of what information will now not be gleaned from this suspect about the al Qaeda network and the Islamic cleric in Yemen that Abdulmutallab was in touch with (the same who claims helping to encourage Army Maj. Hasan in his lethal attack at Fort Hood on unarmed fellow soldiers) since the Obama Administration granted this illegal enemy combatant Fourth Amendment protections.
The Clinton Administration tried the same failed approach now being revisited by Obama – of treating international terrorism as a law enforcement problem, rather than as a military problem and refused to connect the dots. After the first World Trade Center bombing, other Islamic terrorist attacks followed – the attacks on two U.S. Embassies in Africa, the near sinking of the Aegis cruiser, the U.S.S. Cole, in the port of Yemen – meanwhile Osama bin Laden and his clan recruited jihadis and plotted the devastating attacks on U.S. soil on September 11, 2001.
Former Attorney General Mike Mukasey, speaking last week at a conference in New York criticized DoD Secretary Bob Gates on this point, invoking Gates' comment that we cannot kill our way out of this conflict. Mukasey's rebuttal was that we certainly can't convict ourselves out of it. Jamming U.S. courts with foreign/enemy terrorists and granting them the same rights of U.S. citizens – and treating terrorism like an ordinary domestic crime such as bank robbery or embezzlement – defies common sense and ignores the successful tradition and history of U.S. prosecutions during wartime.
As also pointed out at the New York conference by Andrew McCarthy (who prosecuted the first World Trade Center bombing), Franklin Delano Roosevelt designated the Nazi saboteurs who landed on Long Island and in Florida in 1942 as enemy combatants. These enemy agents met with swift justice, with a trial held just four weeks after their capture. Hearing that the German invaders were seeking habeas corpus to challenge their treatment as enemy combatants, FDR arranged to have word passed by his Attorney General to the Supreme Court Justices that he did not care what the Justices thought.
Within less than eight weeks of their capture, six of eight saboteurs were executed. FDR acted as a President who understood his role as Commander-in-Chief; he was not going to permit enemy operatives to take advantage of the liberal protections afforded American citizens by the protections of the U.S. Constitution. FDR did not want to take chances with a civil trial where secrecy could not be guaranteed and legal technicalities could result in allowing the prisoners to go free. Instead, he established a military tribunal, the first to be convened since Lincoln’s day, and the Supreme Court upheld his authority to do so. Further back in history, Gen. George Washington used military commissions to prosecute the Whiskey Rebellion, and military commissions were also used to prosecute John Wilkes Booth's accomplices.
Ambassador John Bolton has pointed out that the "law enforcement paradigm" simply does not work during war. Moreover, the "war paradigm" does not reject the rule of law as supporters of the "law enforcement paradigm" imply. The United States military has the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) which serves to prosecute perpetrators when violations occur - as happened at the Iraqi prison, Abu Ghraib. The prison at Guantanamo Bay was set up, in conformance with the requirements of the Geneva Convention, to deal with extremely dangerous prisoners. GTMO detainees are permitted Geneva Convention protections despite having violated its fundamental requirements which are to wear a military uniform and to avoid killing innocent civilians. Terrorists deliberately target civilians and refuse to abide by the civilized code of conduct that other nations embraced when they signed the Geneva Convention. Rewarding ruthless terrorists with civilian trials (indeed, with better treatment than our own POWs would be entitled to) simply undermines respect for, and the objective of, the Geneva Convention which is to encourage conformance by adversaries to rules during wartime.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-professed mastermind of the 9/11 attacks and who took credit for slitting the throat of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, supposedly boasted upon his capture by American forces, "I'll see you in New York with my lawyer." With the prosecution of the 20th hijacker taking four years to work its way through the domestic courts, and no indictment yet of the 9/11 hijackers, it is evident that civilian trials are simply a means to drag out prosecutions and afford a public stage and spotlight to our enemies for propaganda purposes, letting them exploit America's attributes to their own benefit, and to thwart the U.S. war effort. As Scott Brown declared, we need to finance weapons to stop them, not pay for their legal defense.
The Swiss Islamist Tariq Ramadan was about to take up a position at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana in 2004 when the U.S. government prevented him from entering the country on the grounds that he had funded two Hamas-related groups. For five years, his exclusion has been debated and tried. Finally, it was reversed today. The Associated Press explains:
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has signed orders enabling the re-entry of professors Tariq Ramadan of Oxford University in England and Adam Habib of the University of Johannesburg in South Africa once they obtain required admittance documents, department spokesman Darby Holladay said.

Both the president and the secretary of state have made it clear that the U.S. government is pursuing a new relationship with Muslim communities based on mutual interest and mutual respect."
Comments: (1) I always expected this outcome, that Ramadan would be allowed in, because so many forces were aligned in his favor. That the exclusion lasted over five years was impressive.
(2) Note that this change was ordered from the very top, specifically invoking Obama.
(3) Note also the sleaziness of the State Department spokesman, ascribing Ramadan's exclusion to his "making statements counter to U.S. foreign policy." No, the reason was explicitly his having provided funds to a terrorist-related organization. Why the gratuitous lie, State Department?
(4) The Obama administration puts this case into the context of "pursuing a new relationship with Muslim communities based on mutual interest and mutual respect." But it's always been a terrorism case, with no connection to issues of Islam. What amateurs.
(5) Note the term "mutual respect," the hackneyed phrase repeatedly applied to the U.S. government and Muslims – so much so that I have devoted a whole blog to Obama's use of these words.
(6) So, fellow Americans, how many of you feel safer with the prospect of Tariq Ramadan present in person to talk to our Islamists?
...being waged by native-born jihadists.

Reporting from Washington - The Obama administration, grappling with a spate of recent Islamic terrorism cases on U.S. soil, has concluded that the country confronts a rising threat from homegrown extremism.Anti-terrorism officials and experts see signs of accelerated radicalization among American Muslims, driven by a wave of English-language online propaganda and reflected in aspiring fighters' trips to hot spots such as Pakistan and Somalia.
Europe had been the front line, the target of successive attacks and major plots, while the U.S. remained relatively calm. But the number, variety and scale of recent U.S. cases suggest 2009 has been the most dangerous year domestically since 2001, anti-terrorism experts said:
* There were major arrests of Americans accused of plotting with Al Qaeda and its allies, including an Afghan American charged in a New York bomb plot described as the most serious threat in this country since the Sept. 11 attacks.
* Authorities tracked other extremism suspects joining foreign networks, including Somali Americans going to the battlegrounds of their ancestral homeland and an Albanian American from Brooklyn who was arrested in Kosovo.
* The FBI rounded up homegrown terrorism suspects in Dallas, Detroit and Raleigh, N.C., saying that it had broken up plots targeting a synagogue, government buildings and military facilities.
Last week, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano issued her strongest public comments yet on the homegrown threat.
"We've seen an increased number of arrests here in the U.S. of individuals suspected of plotting terrorist attacks, or supporting terror groups abroad such as Al Qaeda," Napolitano said in a speech in New York. "Home-based terrorism is here. And, like violent extremism abroad, it will be part of the threat picture that we must now confront."
Officials acknowledged that her tone had changed, though they said terrorism has been her focus since becoming Homeland Security chief.
In some of the 2009 cases, extremist leanings are suspected but motives are not known.
Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan -- accused of killing 13 people in a Ft. Hood, Texas, shooting rampage last month -- has apparently suffered emotional problems. But in interviews, officials and experts have also raised his Muslim beliefs as an alleged motive.
A previous attack on the U.S. military, a shooting in June by an American convert who killed a soldier and wounded another at an Arkansas recruiting center, was apparently a case of a lone wolf radicalized in Yemen, according to Homeland Security officials.
"You are seeing the full spectrum of the threats you face in terrorism," former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said.
"Radicalization is clearly happening in the U.S.," said Mitchell Silber, director of analysis for the Intelligence Division of the New York Police Department. "In years past, you couldn't say that about the U.S. You could say it about Europe."...
Nonetheless, recent investigations have run across Americans suspected of being operatives of Al Qaeda and its allies who were trained overseas and, in several cases, allegedly conspired with top terrorism bosses. They include a convert from Long Island, N.Y, who was captured in Pakistan late last year; a Chicago businessman accused of scouting foreign targets for a Pakistani network; and at least 15 Somali American youths from Minneapolis who returned to fight in their ancestral homeland....
There is not another religion in the world that consistently produces terrorism in the name of religion as does Islam. The most dangerous Muslims are nearly always those who interpret the Koran most transparently. They are the fundamentalists or purists of the faith, and believe in Muhammad’s mandate to spread Islamic rule by the sword, putting to death those who will not submit.
Among every four humans in the world, one of them is Muslim. Islam is now the second largest religious group in France, Great Britain and USA!
There is no point in beating around the bush. The fact is that Islam is a militant, intolerant, incendiary religion whose adherents, whenever they establish "critical mass" of about 10 percent of a given population, begin to foment Violence, Revolt and Jihad --- in essence, a Declaration of War on Western Civilization.
